Can you believe it’s been 20 years since Harry received his Hogwarts letter? This family friendly event at the Melbourne Writers Festival will bring the wizarding world to Fed Square, with live performances, readings, a Sorting Hat and dress-up competitions.

The action kicks off with a free session at 10.30am, where some of Melbourne's brightest minds will discuss their favourite parts of the books. Hear from crossword genius and author David Astle, actor and comedian Ben McKenzie, author Lili Wilkinson and Levi Pinfold, who is the illustrator of the new Harry Potter 20th anniversary edition covers.

Then at 11.30am, put your knowledge to the test with Harry Potter trivia. There'll be a dress-up parade at 12.30pm, then a free screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Mischief managed.
