Luxuriate in cool climate pinots by the sea this Labour Day long weekend, with live music, tasting notes and food trucks

Still figuring out plans for the Labour Day long weekend? If you're keen to escape the city and get a nice hit of ocean air, why not hop in the car and head to the Mornington Peninsula? Aside from all the lovely things to see and do in the area (especially while the weather's still warm), there's a popular wine lover's event about to kick off.

Held at the Flinders Foreshore on Sunday, March 10, Piers and Pinots is an afternoon celebration by the sea featuring wine tastings, music performances and a gathering of beloved food trucks. Just imagine: a salty breeze, a tasty bite to eat and a line-up of some of the best pinot varietals of the region, all set to a soundtrack of cruisy live tunes. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to us!

The long-held tradition takes place next to the pier between noon and 3pm, with 21 Mornington Peninsula wineries set to show off their pinot in all of its juicy forms – from sparkling and pinot noir to pinot gris, grigio and meunier. Food will be available to buy from the trucks, and your $65 ticket includes all wine tastings, tasting notes and a complimentary Riedel tasting glass.

For more information on participating wineries or to get tickets now, head to the website. Just be quick as you can – this event typically sells out well in advance (with a limited number of tickets available on the day.)
