Yippee! Six Flags is open for the season

As much as New Yorkers love a stroll around the Coney Island Boardwalk and ride (or seven) on the Wonder Wheel, sometimes we need to mix it up a bit.

When the craving for fierce spins, dips and corkscrews kicks in, we have to take a trip to Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari in New Jersey. Like Luna Park, Six Flags is open this week in celebration of spring break, and it also kicks off the start of its 2018 season. It might be a bit colder than usual—dare we say it feels more like winter break than spring break—but there are plenty of reasons to get excited about amusement park season.

For one, the park is offering several new attractions and amenities this season. In honor of the beloved DC super hero, CYBORG Cyber Spin will take riders seven stories above the ground for flips, twists and turns. It's going to be insane, most likely not for the faint of heart. Might we suggest making a pitstop at the new Boardwalk Steak & Fries after you've enjoyed CYBORG?

Have younger kiddos who aren't quite as adventurous? Not a problem. The amusement park is home to kids rides such as the Bugs Bunny Camp Carousel, Porky Pig's Camp Wagon junior ferris wheel and other less non-threatening, intense CYBORG-like attractions. There's fun for everyone—even the animal lovers

See you there (preferably at the carousel, not a roller coaster).
