Swap the theater for a park—August is coming to a close, and you need to catch the best free summer movies in NYC before the season's over. After all, the warm weather would not be complete without complimentary outdoor screenings of your favorite flicks. 

From new releases, to classic '80s films and everything in between, NYC's free outdoor movies are shown across the five boroughs in playgrounds, parks, beaches—all of your go-to spots. The list is lengthy, so pack in a few more nights out before school's back in session. Don't forget to bring the popcorn!
