Time Out says

Lobster Bar and Grill is Island Shangri-La’s legendary bar that consistently attracts a discerning clientele with its sophisticated ambience, selection of classic and artisanal cocktails, and extensive wine list. Renowned bartenders, like Agung Prabowo from Penicillin and Joe Villanueva from The Social Den, have graced its counters and left an indelible mark on its legacy. Take your pick from a rotating list of libations – including cocktails with artistic Asian flair, artisanal spirits, fortified wines, and liquors – and unwind to the sounds of live jazz performances in the evenings from Thursday to Saturday.

As for the restaurant, chef Cary Docherty returns to Lobster Bar in 2024, bringing back the restaurant’s classic signature dishes and introducing new surprises. The popular seafood tower ($1288) remains a highlight, offering a luxurious assortment of lobster, king crab, oysters, prawns, and sashimi. Don't miss their classic speciality, the Beef Wellington ($1288), a fillet steak wrapped in crispy, flaky pastry. New additions include a Sunday Brunch (starting at $898 per person) featuring family-style appetisers like freshly shucked oysters and lobster bisque, along with mains such as roast beef, lamb, or pork served with all the trimmings, or grilled or poached whole Boston lobster with garlic or lemon butter. The brunch experience also includes a free-flow drinks package with options like Bloody Mary and Champagne. Additionally, there's a new Burger Bar menu with five options, including the Panko-crusted Alaskan pollock fish burger ($318).

Negroni Week 2025

Campari and Imbibe Magazine have teamed up once again to bring Negroni Week for the 13th year. From September 22 to 28, Hongkongers can look forward to an exciting series of events celebrating the iconic cocktail while raising funds to support Slow Food, a global movement to promote local food and sustainability. The celebrations kick off on September 18 with Italian bartending icons from across Asia – Giovanni Graziadei, Simone Ciambrone, and Simone Rossi – taking over the Drawing Room at The St. Regis Hong Kong, where they’ll be serving bespoke Negroni cocktails. Meanwhile, in Macau, Wing Lei Bar at Wynn Palace Cotai will ambitiously attempt to break the world record for the world’s largest Negroni batch at a whopping 800 litres.  Drop into Bar Leone on September 22 to catch Negroni Week’s opening party, where guests can enjoy four Negroni-style cocktails and a live set from local DJ Jamie Maddock. On September 24, Lobster Bar at Island Shangri-La will host Quang Minh Nguyên and Rich McDonough from Hanoi’s Workshop 14, recipients of the Campari One to Watch awards at Asia’s 50 Best Bars, as they shake up Negroni-inspired cocktails with Vietnamese twists. The following night, Campari’s brand ambassador, Delphine Kong, will lead a free Negroni workshop at Sogo’s Causeway Bay location and share insights into Campari’s legacy.  Still thirsty for more? Head to Honky Tonks Tavern afterwards to see the restobar transformed into an Italian-American pizza joint, where guests can...
