Following successful openings of his ‘Bo’ brand in London and Shanghai, Alvin Leung, the self-styled Demon Chef, is planning to expand his outposts here in Hong Kong. Joining Wan Chai’s three Michelin-starred Bo Innovation and the more casual Korean dining and beer concept Bib N Hops will be two new openings this autumn.

Plato 86 is set to take traditional Spanish cuisine and update it with modern touches and contemporary presentation. Surprisingly located within the Brim 28 complex – home to somewhat modest operations like The Trafalgar Brewing Company and Frites – in Wan Chai, the aim is to open the restaurant by the end of the month.

Leung’s second new concept is Forbidden Duck. Again, Leung looks set to update a classic – this time Peking duck and other poultry. The restaurant will take over Yun Yan’s vacated space in Causeway Bay and aims to open in November. Sam Sinha
