Following its successful pop-up at MO Bar in 2016, New York’s much-lauded Please Don’t Tell (PDT) is getting its first permanent overseas home here in Hong Kong.

The establishment, which regularly appears in lists of the world’s best bars, is returning
to its former location in the Landmark Mandarin Oriental early next year. To enter, you must pass through a false phone booth at the top of the stairs above MO Bar. Hongkongers looking to experience a slice of NYC’s Lower East Side can enjoy the bar’s secrecy, distinctive interiors – including taxidermy – and the creative cocktails developed by renowned mixologists Jim Meehan and Jeff Bell (pictured).

PDT plans to partner with different chefs each season to provide patrons a range of different food options. As a nod to the original bar’s proximity to Crif Dogs hotdog stand in NYC, the initial offering will be free-range pork, chicken and beef hotdogs, created by the Landmark MO’s culinary director, Richard Ekkebus, of Amber fame. If they’re anywhere near as good as the versions that were available during the bar’s pop-up, we can’t wait. Sam Sinha
