Magnificent old school charm at The Peninsula - a refreshing change to the brilliant but still green Four Seasons on the island. The Rolls Royces which act as (pricey) taxis for residents give the foyer a very unique feel. Tourists come for the afternoon tea which is in the lobby, a great place to people watch but a tad stuffy. Better to explore and visit the bar on the fourth floor, to sample a Rolls Royce cocktail. Also has an excellent spa which is open to non-residents.
