If you're looking for enriching things to do for Christmas, join Mexican-inspired bar Coa's (ranks #8 at Worlds 50 Best Bars 2020) mission to give back to the community through a set of curated agave spirits tastings entitled Mezcal Mission. Learn about tequila and mezcal at the same time, and drink for a cause to raise funds for vulnerable families in Hong Kong via charity Habitat For Humanity, a nonprofit organisation helping build homes for local underprivileged communities.

Launched by mezcal enthusiast Andrew Davis and Time Out Hong Kong's 2019 bartender of the year and Coa's co-owner Jay Khan, Mezcal Mission partners with tequila and mezcal producers for the tastings taking place at Coa on Monday nights, 7pm, bi-weekly starting on December 17.

Since Coa's opening in 2017, Jay has been promoting family-owned small-batch tequila and mezcal in the local community and has been raising Hong Kong's bar industry in the region. Andrew on the other hand, is a new face in the Hong Kong drink scene, coming all the way from Los Angeles, he has been a long time mezcal enthusiast and has worked with various charitable organisations since early 2000. Together, they aim to provide a unique experience for guests to sample and learn about handcrafted agave spirits while supporting a great cause.

All proceeds from the events will go directly to Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong to help fund the charity's projects, including their local programme ‘Project Home Works’ which helps low-income families, the elderly, and people living with disabilities by providing house repair services.

A seat to the tastings will cost $250 per head. The tastings will be limited to 20 seats, so make sure to get your tickets today via eventbrite.com. Follow Mezcal Mission on Instagram and Facebook
