Fancy whipping up a Michelin star-worthy meal without having to undergo the rigorous curriculum at Le Cordon Bleu? Cooking With The Culinary Stars by InterContinental Hong Kong is back and might just fulfil that wish.

The series lets participants cook with celebrity chefs from the hotel’s highly regarded restaurants like Yan Toh Heen, Rech by Alain Ducasse and Nobu InterContinental Hong Kong. Modern and traditional culinary techniques are covered in the classes, with a focus on the essentials of French, Japanese and Cantonese cuisine. If you’ve a sweet tooth, the dessert and cake-making class in the Baking Club should satisfy your cravings. Students can also customise their own menu and have the chefs create recipes just for them at private cooking classes.

The two- to three-hour classes take place once a month on Saturdays and lunch and drinks are included (both $1,888).

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, if you can spare the cash, why not get your partner a different gift this year or learn how to whip up a top notch dinner for them? Either should count as a three-star gift. Priscilla Lee
