Your sun-drenched Mediterranean vacation dreams may still be miles away, but that shouldn't stop you from getting a little R&R to escape the city. Tsim Sha Tsui's Hotel Icon has the answer and that is through music therapy. In partnership with British audio company KEF, Hotel Icon is taking guests on a trip down KEF Music Memory Lane complete with music-themed suites, special bites and cocktails, movie recommendations, Spotify playlist prepared by celebrated DJ Dr Wong Chi Chung, and complimentary club access with afternoon tea and evening cocktails at Above & Beyond Lounge. Guests will be treated to a musical experience throughout their stay starting at the Lounge and ending at any of the three themed suites – Club 80 Harbour Suite ($4,600+), Club 65 Studio Suite ($3,800+), and Designer Suite by Vivienne Tam ($5,100+).

Music has long been known to have a profound effect on both the emotions and the body. With so many stressors this year, and no escape outside of the city, a lot of us have turned to music to help our mood. Upbeat music can make you feel alert, optimistic, and inspired, meanwhile slow tempo beats can calm the mind and make life's stresses drift away. If you like jamming to pop-rock, and well, being treated like a rockstar, opt for the spacious, and most upscale accommodation of the hotel, the Club 80 Harbour Suite, an 80sq m-room where you can take in 280-degree views of the Victoria Harbour. Inspired by British music legends John Lennon and David Bowie, the suite is replete with the rock legends memorabilia. Guests can scan through vinyl records, books – including BBC Archives of The Beatles and The John Lennon Letters, a massive collection of Lennon's letters and postcards – and listen to the rockstars’ greatest hits amplified through KEF's newly launched LS50 Wireless II speakers. To complete the rockstar treatment, guests can order a complimentary open-faced sandwich platter – Lennon's signature breakfast – and Bowie's favourite tipple, a straight up Martini, best enjoyed by the corner window overlooking the harbour before sundown.

If you're more into crooners, and jazz fills your heart with all kinds of feelings, the hotel has prepped the Designer Suite by Vivienne Tam inspired by Paris Street to represent the jazz age. Here guests can have a blast posing for their Instagram accounts amidst a warm room ambience with panoramic backdrops of the harbour while drifting to the music of Norah Jones, Chet Baker, or Miles Davis. To complete the experience, indulge in a selection of movie-inspired treats that includes Chicken on a Stick from the Hollywood blockbuster, La La Land, and a blue-tinted cocktail inspired by Norah Jones' My Blueberry Nights

For a local vibe, the hotel has dressed up the Club 65 Studio Suite in a Legends of 80's Cantopop theme. Cantopop fans can relive the soundtracks of 80's Hong Kong cinema, and turn back time with the music of Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, and Beyond, amidst nostalgic '80s music-inspired décor and posters. The room offers small bites of egg tarts and Hong Kong-style bubble milk tea for added effect.
