Are you banking on a Hong Kong drinking spot being in the top five?

Ahead of the World’s 50 Best Bars 2026 rankings being unveiled in Milan on October 7, The 50 (formerly known as 50 Best) has dropped the extended list of global bars ranked 51 to 100 – and four Hong Kong watering holes have made the cut.
Our highest entry on the extended list is Coa at No. 54, which is an agave haven that needs no introduction for lovers of tequila and mezcal. Penicillin, Hong Kong’s first closed-loop sustainable bar, comes in at No. 69, followed by the softly stylish neighbourhood bar Mius at No. 81, marking its debut on the World’s 50 Best list. Finally, The Savory Project rounds off Hong Kong’s delegates at No. 96 with its umami-rich, culinary cocktails.
Looking at a broader view of the whole list, the USA has the most representative bars from a single country with five spots in the rankings. Europe as a region takes 18 spots ranging from Barcelona’s historic Boadas at No. 52 to Edinburgh speakeasy-style bar Panda & Sons at No. 72. There are also 13 brand-new entries in this year’s list, among them MO Bar Shenzhen, which recently made its way to No. 5 in the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list earlier this year in July.
Watch this space for when the top 50 bars list gets revealed later this week!
