See which venues were voted as Hongkongers’ personal favourites

We’re sure you’ve seen the bright red Time Out stickers in restaurants, cafés, and more around town, but in case you’re not quite sure where they come from, here’s a quick rundown. Every year, the Time Out Hong Kong team compile a list of top-notch entertainment spots, eateries, coffee shops, cheap bites, shops, and beauty and wellness venues – and we also ask you, the people of Hong Kong, which ones are your particular favourites.
The winners of these Readers’ Choice awards from each category are presented with a special plaque instead of just a sticker, so look out for them when you’re out and about! Without further ado, here are the winners of the Readers’ Choice awards 2026, as voted by Time Out Hong Kong readers.
Trendy pasta bars started cropping up everywhere last year, and The Spoon is one of the venues that still pull in the crowds. Head chef Dylan is Malaysian so he brings a touch of Southeast Asian flavours into his Italian classics. We love the Wagyu bolognese ragu bianco with curry coconut cream pappardelle, a surprisingly homey creation that harmoniously blends Malaysian curry with classic white ragu.
Sitting on the less rowdy lower part of Peel Street, Not 2 Sweet is one of the best dive bars in the city. Go here for unpretentious drinks, good vibes, and special events like open mic nights and karaoke sessions. The fact that plenty of other bartenders in the area also like to hang out here post-shift should tell you a lot.
The pastel yellow and dark wood façade of Urban Coffee Roaster makes this pretty unmissable on Hollywood Road. This specialty coffee brand focuses on sustainability, sourcing their beans directly from global producers and roasting them fresh in Hong Kong. If you need a caffeine jolt while traipsing around Central, then this is where you should stop by.
It’s great to see a grocery store that promotes a sustainable lifestyle get recognition from Hongkongers. Visit the flagship store in Kennedy Town to find environmental-friendly household items, tableware, skincare, decorations, and more. Our favourite section is their packaging-free refill stations, where customers can bring their own containers to fill up with everything from snacks, grains and pantry staples, to cleaning supplies.
Thank you to everyone who voted for Time Out Recommends 2026 Readers’ Choice awards! We will be getting in touch with participants who have won the survey prizes.
