Life in a time of corona, where working from home and social distancing have become the norm (for the time being at least). It’s also changed the way we consume food. Many Hongkongers are turning to food delivery in a socially responsible effort to stay in. In light of this, many restaurants have acclimated to the current circumstances by replicating the restaurant experience to an at-home dining experience through food delivery services. All your cravings are met with the freshest of quality, and quickest delivery, so you can enjoy the restaurant experience wherever you are in as fast as 25 minutes. From Michelin-starred Chinese, to easy, everyday meals, to greasy spoon classics, restaurants you might not have known were available via food delivery have changed the perception of takeout. Here are some of our favourites to curb your cravings, most are exclusive to Foodpanda.

Tim Ho Wan is considered one of the best dim sums spots in Hong Kong, you can now enjoy this local neighbourhood gem in the comfort of your abode. Have one of the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurants in the world delivered and enjoy at home or in the office. Their most famous dish? Pokeworld

The Sheung Wan joint that brought the Hawaiian poke craze to Hong Kong is now bringing it straight to your door. Pokeworld's healthy bowls will arrive at your door the same way it would in-restaurant. This is a go-to option for those looking for a balanced meal with high-quality ingredients, offering a large selection of proteins, vegetables, sauces and additional toppings. We recommend dressing up your bowl with the spicy mayo or yuzu ponzu dressing.

Double D

After a two-year hiatus, Hong Kong’s beloved retro-cool burger and shake purveyor Double D has returned and is available for home delivery. Known for their juicy beef patties and the sinfully delicious fully loaded french fries, Double D brings burger offerings such as the classic Double D burger and the beer-battered fish mac, with decadent milkshakes to wash them down. Shake Shack

The cult-favourite burger joint from New York made a stir when it finally made its Hong Kong debut. Awarded with the Good Egg Award in 2017, Shake Shack has been recognised as one of the companies that has committed to using cage-free eggs. A taste of NYC is closer than you think. Shake up the dinner table with the Shack Burger (signature cheeseburger), the Smoke Shack (the classic Shack Burger but pimped out with the addition of cherry pepper relish and applewood-smoked bacon) and crinkle-cut fries. The signature concretes (aka frozen custards) come in flavours that are exclusive to the city, such as milk tea and HK-style French toast.

Alvy's

A good slice can be hard to come by in this city and Alvy's certainly knows how to curb a pizza craving. This cosy neighbourhood joint in Kennedy Town serves up good sourdough-based pizza and good drinks in equal measure and its casual New York neighbourhood bar vibes can be brought home. Signature pies like the MA-La Di Da Pizza (an NYC-inspired pie featuring a tangy vodka sauce and sharp pecorino) and A La Vodka pizza (a fiery number which combines savoury salumi with the numbing spice of Sichuan peppercorns) can be washed down with signature brews from Young Master.
