Some people eat to live, but Hongkongers live to eat. With our world-class food culture and ridiculously high number of restaurants per capita, who could blame us? If you’re loud and proud about your love for food, then be sure to take part in Asia Miles’ annual “Members’ Choice” awards, which recognises the city’s best restaurants across various categories.

This year, there are 120 restaurants nominated across six categories: Romantic vibes, Family get-togethers, Social corners, Celebratory feasts, Photogenic feasts, and Choosy foodies. During the campaign period from now until December 14, you can collect stars in the following three ways:

1. Vote for your favourite restaurant in Hong Kong to kick start your star collecting journey. You can only vote once in each of the six categories and you'll collect three stars for every vote.
2. Get your friends and family to vote using your unique sharing code. If you share your code with someone and they vote, both parties collect one star (capped at 20 stars).
3. From now until December 9, dine at Asia Miles’ dining partners in Hong Kong to collect three stars (no cap).

To make the awards even more delicious, Asia Miles is offering 2,000,000 Miles worth of prizes for this campaign, including 120,000 Miles, which is equivalent to two Economy Class Standard Awards round-trip air tickets from Hong Kong to Paris, in addition to a three-day culinary trip to Le Logis, the home of the famous Grey Goose vodka, located in the Charente region of France. Other fantastic prizes include swanky appliances, fine wines and pairs of tickets to AXA presents My Love Andy Lau World Tour ‧ Hong Kong 2018.

Since there are so many restaurants to choose from, we’ve highlighted some of our favourite nominees to give you a primer on the seriously impressive restaurants that you can vote for this year. Have fun voting, sharing and dining!

Whether you’re getting to know someone new or celebrating a long-term love, you can’t go wrong with an intimate meal for two. With its stunning harbour view, elegant décor and its spicy, mouth-tingling Chengdu cuisine, Fu Rong is the perfect place to turn up the heat for any romantic relationship. The restaurant also boasts an impressive wine list for those who want to toast to an extra special evening.

Family get-togethers: The Steak House Winebar + Grill

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that feeding someone shows you care about them (just ask any grandma). Celebrate those who you love the most with a hearty family meal. We’ve all done the classic yum cha get-together, but we suggest switching things up at The Steak House Winebar + Grill at the InterContinental Hong Kong. There’s something for everyone, from seafood and signature cuts of beef to decadent desserts. There are also plenty of large plates that are perfect for sharing with the entire fam – order the seafood tower and you’ll get what we mean.

Social corners: Urban Park

This casual and comfy restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy good food, good drinks and good company. The menu is simple and satisfying and includes tapas that are designed to be shared with friends, as well as plenty of delicious international dishes. Another reason why this is a great spot for socialising? You can enjoy two-for-one prosecco, wines and beers every day from 5pm to 8pm.

Celebratory feasts: Maze Grill

Whether it’s a birthday, professional achievement, or personal milestone, we love to mark any and all celebrations with fantastic food. While your instinct might be to go for the comfort of old favourites, we say make new memories by heading to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s new restaurant, Maze Grill. Its stunning views of Victoria Harbour, elevated British cuisine and tasteful décor will make for a truly unforgettable experience.

Photogenic feasts: Dragon Noodles Academy

It’s no secret that the camera eats first in Hong Kong; from Instagram-friendly sweet treats to artistic re-imaginings of old classics, there’s photogenic food to be found all across the city. Dragon Noodles Academy in Central takes that concept and runs with it at full speed. Housed in a space that’s modelled after a 1970s-style kung fu school, this casual eatery serves up Cantonese food that’s punchy in taste as well as presentation.

Any restaurant that can consistently deliver a high quality experience deserves a spot in this category designed for discerning diners. In that regard, Ming Court, Cordis Hotel’s Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, has never failed us. From the stylish surrounds to the award-winning Chinese fare, we can always rely on Ming Court to impress.
