Time to bust out the booze and party hats—it's not just another day, it's [insert made-up city holiday here]! We took it upon ourselves to designate some city celebrations (and gathered up a few that actually exist, both locally and nationally) so that you'll always have an excuse to toast to LA. Cheers!

January 1: LA's Stonewall (aka, the anniversary of the gay rights riots at Black Cat Tavern in Silver Lake)

February 15: Angelyne Rocks Day (aka, the anniversary of Angelyne's first billboard, which read "Angelyne Rocks")

March 30: Cezar Chavez Day

April 12: Talk Like Vin Scully Day (aka Dodgers opening day)

May 2: Avocado Day

May 14: Opening Night at Cinespia at Hollywood Forever

June 8: Overdraft Day (aka the Day of the Payment Plan; aka Coachella presale)

June 18: Opening Night at Hollywood Bowl

July 17: The Happiest Day on Earth (aka Disneyland's birthday)

August 24: Kobe Bryant Day

September 4: El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula Day (aka the Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels of the Porciúncula River Day; aka LA's birthday)

October 4: Taco Day

October 25: Black Tuesday at the Bruery (aka the one-day release of the 19% ABV Black Tuesday bourbon barrel aged imperial stout—hiccup)

November 24: No Traffic Day (aka Thanksgiving)

Note: All dates and anniversaries are specific to 2016 and may vary each year.
