Fitzroy pub The Provincial Hotel opens a new rooftop bar

Just in time for spring and summer, The Provincial Hotel on Brunswick Street is launching a brand new rooftop bar on Friday September 15. Punters will be able to lord over Fitzroy from the corner pub this summer over pints from the 10 beers on tap and cocktails like the boozy watermelon punch or a Pina Colada.

The new addition to the neighbourhood shakes things up for Fitzroy's existing rooftop bars, Naked in the Sky and Upside Rooftop Bar further up on Brunswick Street. The Provincial's rooftop, which opens out to a roof-level view of Fitzroy, has been decked out like a fancy patio with timber decking, kitschy mismatched outdoor furniture, potted plants and a marble bar. There's plenty of heating to keep you warm before the summer sun hits.

The bar will also be serving hot dogs, pizzas and burgers. If you don't mind sharing, they've got a long bar snacks list featuring sweet potato pakoras (India's take on fritters), mac'n'cheese bites, loaded fries and wings. All bar snacks are under $20, good news if you've got a hungry bunch with you.

Check out Fitzroy's newest vantage point over knock-off drinks this Friday.
