He’s set to make a debut appearance alongside Timothée Chalamet in Wonka, had a critically-acclaimed Netflix special, appeared on David Letterman, enjoyed sold-out runs across all the big comedy festivals, and now the comedian Phil Wang is returning to Australia with his hit new show Wang In There, Baby!
Performing at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Wednesday, November 8, Wang will begin his tour “exploring race, family, nipples and everything else that’s been going on in his Philly little life”. He will also be performing shows in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.
Wang was the first UK comedian to tape and release a Netflix Original stand-up comedy special during the pandemic with Philly Philly Wang Wang and the only non-US comedian spotlighted on That’s My Time With David Letterman. He has also appeared on countless primetime shows such as Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie to You? Late Night with Seth Meyers, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Taskmaster and The Great British Bake Off: Extra Slice. He has also recently appeared in a recurring guest role in Amy Schumer’s comedy-drama series Life & Beth.
The comedian is no stranger to the comedy circuit and has performed at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and New Zealand comedy festival. His show Philly Philly Wang Wang broke records at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, selling out its run before the festival even began.
