What a journey hot cross buns have been on. The humble mix of spice, dried fruit and dough now comes in a myriad flavour combinations, from double chocolate to apple and cinnamon (heck, you can even get buns in ice cream form). Well, now you can add yet another spicy bun variant to the mix.

Mill and Bakery is making hot cross doughnuts this Easter because hey, why not combine two delicious pastries? The light, fluffy doughies are made with the traditional spices of cinnamon and clove, as well as whole pureed orange which is folded through the dough. Once fried, the hot cross doughnuts are piped full of orange custard before being finished with the customary white cross.

The hot cross doughnuts are available from now until Easter from Mill and Bakery in Docklands.
