It's not like Victorians need an excuse to go out eating and drinking — after all, it's what we do best. But to give you all the more reason to get off the couch and continue supporting our hospitality industry, the Victorian government has announced that it's bringing back its dining and entertainment cash-back program.

If you spend $40 or more, you will be eligible to claim 25 per cent cash back when you dine anywhere across Victoria, any day of the week. As well as dining, the cash-back program also applies to entertainment venues such as cinemas, museums, galleries, live performances, theme parks and even mini golf.

The program is capped at $125 per person, and you can claim multiple times until you reach the cap. Anyone with an Australian bank account is eligible, so you don't even have to call this great state home to get in on the fun. And the best part is that claiming your cash is easy  just hold onto your receipt and have your bank account details handy.

The cash back program will run from today until December 16, 2022 — or until the $25 million fund is depleted, whichever happens first. So, don't let it go to waste; get spending and start saving now!

Be sure to check out the Victorian government website for all the deets.
