Now that autumn has arrived, the promise of cold weather means a whole host of delicious, comforting dishes are going to be hitting menus across the city. Suddenly you're going to want to eat soup again, and poutine, and ramen. In fact, ramen is top of our list of reasons to welcome the cold, and even better news is that Supernormal is bringing back its ramen lunch special for the next six months.

Over Autumn and winter the famous Flinders Lane restaurant will be serving 20 portions of its off-menu noodle soup each day, kicking off at noon and probably selling out before the 3pm cut-off. It's only available on workdays and costs $20 for a bowl of soy-infused chicken broth, grilled chicken, prawn and chicken dumplings, a soy egg, wakame seaweed and togarashi seasoning.

It's not a cheap lunch, but sometimes you just want to treat yourself to something a bit snazzy to brighten your working week, and limited-edition ramen fits the bill.

Prefer hand-held food? Try one of Melbourne's best burgers for lunch instead.
