Enjoy Christmas lunch at Melbourne’s longest bar while looking out over the Yarra River. This year’s lunch offering makes seafood the centrepiece in a family-style, shared menu lunch featuring dishes like seafood platters filled with king prawns, spanner crab, cured kingfish and lobster rolls; charcuterie platters stuffed to the brim with Christmas ham, turkey terrines and chicken liver parfait. Beverages and desserts are all included. $150

This year’s Christmas lunch will be an outrageous buffet starting with sashimi, smoked and cured fish as canapes, freshly shucked Appellation Oysters, on-the-spot carving of dry-roasted turkey, acorn-fed ham glazed in honey, Sher wagyu beef ribs and obligatory sides. Desserts zig-zag across Europe with stollen, Victoria sponges and madeleines, amongst many others. Booze will be free-flowing. $359

For a Cantonese Christmas, Sun Kitchen is offering a five-course lunch with a view of Albert Park with two-hours of free-flowing Champagne, wine, beer and spirits. Expect dishes like pan-seared scallops with Jamon, Cantonese-style roast turkey, baked lobster tail and braised e-fu noodles with smoked duck and XO sauce. $200

If you like your Christmas in the city, head to State of Grace for a shared feast over four-courses that includes gougeres with truffle custard; prawns; bourbon and maple glazed pork belly; turkey wellington; duck fat potatoes; and the obligatory pavlova.
