A month-long festival will take over Federation Square with free events celebrating biodiversity, nature and sustainability

To celebrate the arrival of spring, a fun-filled festival will take over Federation Square in September, with free family-friendly events that celebrate our natural world and how to better look after it.

RESET festival is all about starting fresh, refreshing ideas and getting inspired to take on new ways of living. It's about reinventing little parts of our lives to make big changes in the world.

The program is full of activations, markets, festivals, activities and workshops, all focused on minimising negative impacts on the environment and increasing positive impact. There's fun to be had almost every weekend for the month, with plenty of fun for the little ones during school holidays.

The events will kick off on Saturday, September 2 with a Zero Waste Festival, where you can learn valuable tips and tricks from experts on how to lead a waste-free lifestyle through panel discussions, talks and activites.

The following weekend, there'll be tons of delicious plant-based food and cruelty-free fashion at the Vegan Market on Saturday, September 9.

The next day, 'Ree-Bee Our Community' will share all things buzzing bees to educate on their importance to biodiversity. Also on Sunday, September 10, 'Refresh and Reinvent' will run hands-on workshops delivered by CERES Community Environment Park that will teach important life skills.

As school holidays kick off, bring your youngest environmentalists along to explore the magical world of insects through an interactive playful experience called The Butterfly House, combining puppetry, performance and visual art, from September 19 to 21.

Plus, Pedal Power Pictures will pop-up with a special bike that can generate power to play movies, with environmental documentaries and fun Studio Ghibli films on screen from September 19 to 22.

An interactive mechanical garden will also be on show, where burgeoning botanists of all ages can communicate with plants with the art installation Numinous Bloom from September 22 to 24.

To finish off the fantastic festival, Trash Puppets Live! will pack in the laughs with a child-friendly, educational sketch show, also with workshops on how to make your very own trash puppet, from September 26 to 27.

Learn all about how to reduce, reuse, recycle and repair at this festival to take care of our precious planet.
