Time Out says

This new grassroots festival celebrates the art of food and beer pairing amidst the joyous vibes of Molly Rose Brewing's sunny beer garden

Ever since Molly Rose opened its expanded venue space earlier this year and hired new Thai-born chef Ittichai Ngamtrairai, the beloved Collingwood brewery and beer garden has transformed into a charming destination for A-grade cold ones and cleverly paired eats.

Now, founder Nic Sandery and his team have decided to take a moment’s pause to celebrate the brewpub’s success and they're inviting you to join in the party. The special event 'Smile, Enjoy!' on Sunday, November 12, will shine a light on the art of food and beer pairing, allowing attendees to marvel at the interplay between flavours in an afternoon of sips, smiles and superb eats.

Joining the party will be a bunch of Nic’s fave breweries from around Victoria and wider Australia, each partnering up with a food legend to create their very own power pairing designed to blow your mind. You’ll get to taste their creations, plus the chance to sign up to join the brewers for a Matchmakers Masterclass, where they’ll dig deeper into the science of their flavour fusions and reveal their secrets about the ideation process.

“I am really lucky that my career has taken me around the country and that I can call some of the best brewers in the country friends,” Nic says. “When I was curating the breweries for Smile, Enjoy! I was able to text, email and call 5 mates who all said yes straight away and we ended up with a list of brewers who are going to bring a stellar lineup of beer.”

A single ticket costs $130 and gets you access to your choice of four-hour session (Day or Twilight) in the bright and sunny beer garden, two beers from each brewery – that’s about 12 beers all up, bites to eat paired with each brewery – again, that’s six epic snacks, plus a branded Plumm glass to use throughout the event and keep. You’ll also get to meet and chat with the brewers, who include folks from Range, Loophole, Black Arts, Noodledoof, Bruny Island Beer Co. and of course, Molly Rose.

We’ll leave most of the foodie line-up a surprise, but you can expect the banh mi masters from Ca Com to make an appearance – that’s reason alone to snag yourself a spot.

Tickets are available here, with group pass discounts available. Head to the website for more details.
