Time Out says

Celebrity chefs team up with local food heroes for a seaside feast that’s worth the road trip

It’s time to hit the road for a delicious journey as Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s Village Feast returns, this time with a coastal twist. The all-day festival will see thousands of passionate foodies flock to the beautiful foreshore of Inverloch on November 18 to experience the best of Gippsland’s produce cooked up by a star-studded line-up of Australian chefs.

Headlining MFWF’s flagship event is acclaimed cook and host of The Cook Up Adam Liaw who will be joined by world-renowned Caribbean chef Paul Carmichael (Momofuku Seiobo), Masterchef winner Emelia Jackson, top Melbourne chef Thi Le (Anchovy, JeowCa Com), social sensation the Invy Baker, best-selling author and chef Raph Rashidacclaimed Sydney chef Clayton Wells (Mod Dining, Automata), local legend Nick Mahlook (Sodafish) and more.

You can catch these culinary stars in action at 10 diverse food stalls or engaged in culinary discussions at the Chef Shack, hosted by the Seasoned Traveller herself, Sofia Levin. There’s also the Drinks Shack where you can chat with local wine and spirit producers, enjoy free tastings from 14 top-drawer winemakers and unwind at one of seven buzzing bars.

As you wine and dine by the seaside, enjoy live music all day from the likes of Aria-award winner Alex Lloyd, Kim Churchill and Cool Out Sun.

Tickets to the Village Feast are $35 for adults, $15 for kids aged 10-17 and free for kids under 10. The young ones will have a blast at the festival with cupcake decorating, sandcastle-making competitions and face-painting, and as an added bonus, there will be egg and bacon rolls, coffee and a DJ in the morning to help you ease into your Sunday.

The Village Feast is part of the Gippsland Seaside Weekender, a program of events designed to fill your Gippsland getaway with delicious new experiences.
