Salty caramel hot chocolate, peppermint bark doughnuts and Grinch-colored cookie dough, just to name a few!

Don't save all the sweets for Santa. (OK, maybe a few.) NYC's most Instagrammable wintertime desserts are necessities.

Kick back with a decadent cup of cocoa, feast on doughnut that could double as a tree ornament or bite into a dreidel cookie that looks real. This list of  seasonal snacks is as beatuiful as it is hunger-inducing—trust us.

We hear that these goodies go well with a few Christmas movies for kids. They can also act as a great source of energy when you need to refuel from (socially distanced) December events. Have a gander and order up!

  • Restaurants
  • Ice cream parlors
  • Carroll Gardens

Our cup runneth over with decadent chocolatey goodness from the Brooklyn Farmacy. The old-timey soda fountain adds a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate dustings to its classic cocoa offering ($5.50), but the more adventurous customers should consider adding toasted marshmallows to their order. The Salty Caramel Hot Chocolate ($6) is an equally delightful option as well. If you'd like to bring the fun home, consider snagging a tin of hot chocolate ($12) for a stocking stuffer gift or Kris Kringle exchange.

  • Cafés
  • Little Italy

The French bakery with outposts in Manhattan and Brooklyn is a go-to spot for hot chocolate ($4.50), and with a beary adorable presentation, who could say no? While your littles are slurping the smooth, rich original, you might want to spice things up with a lavendar hot chocolate ($4.50).

4. Chip City

Someone better tell Santa that Chip City's holiday cookie flavors have arrived. Options like Chocolate Peppermint Crinkle, Fa La La La Funfetti and Red Velvet Hot Chocolate are in danger of landing us on the naughty list, since we're not terribly inclined to share. Shipping is available, but make sure to place your order by Dec 15 so that it arrives in time for Christmas!

6. DŌ, Cookie Dough Confections

Channeling major Grinch vibes, DŌ's Christmas tree green dough includes heart-shaped sprinkles and bits of peppermint candy. Even the most curmudgeonly Christmas killjoys (like the famed Dr. Seuss character) will have trouble resisting this one.

7. Baked in Color

Chocolate chip cookies never looked so good. Baked in Color has a knack for spicing up the standard treat and turning it into a vibrant celebration for eyes and taste buds. The holiday offerings are no exception.

8. Soft Swerve

Think this is an ordinary ice cream cone? That's where you're wrong: Soft Swerve takes the fan favorite frozen hot chocolate and adds a creamy twist—with a few cereal marshmallows for good measure.
