This year, celebrate Dad by taking him out for a lavish meal fit for a king. Masterchef Singapore judge and chef Damian D’Silva champions a unique brand of local heritage cuisine at Rempapa, spanning across Peranakan, Malay, Eurasian and Chinese flavours. This Father’s day, treat Dad to a hearty meal at the restaurant, with specialties like the Baca Assam ($35), a unique Eurasian dish that Chef Damian’s grandfather used to cook for celebrations. The dish spotlights tender, slow-cooked beef cheek in a special spice blend. Other highlights on the menu include babi pongteh ($30), Hakka fried pork ($20), Sri Lankan chicken curry with tomato chutney ($19), and babi tulang masak assam ($35). And make sure to save some space for the restaurant’s assortment of traditional kueh, including classics like kueh salat and kueh bakar pandan.

The restaurant is known for serving up reliable and delicious slabs of USDA Prime steaks. This Father’s Day, it’s presenting a curated menu ($188 per person) consisting of its best hits. You’ll start off with refreshing flavours – think tuna tartare cucumber wraps, tortilla guacamole, and a luxurious truffle crab meat basket. But the mains are where it’s at. Choose between a 28-day dry-aged ribeye or the Colorado lamb chop, paired with moreish sides like bacon mac ‘n cheese. This burger and craft beer joint is the perfect spot for a Father’s Day celebration if Dad’s the laidback, chill type. This Father’s Day weekend, Black Tap is bringing back the highly raved Boss Burger, available as a pairing with a pint of the Singapore Island Lager ($38). Expect a juicy double beef patty stack with bacon, topped with melted American cheese, crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and slathered with Black Tap’s special homemade sauce – the perfect pairing with a swig of crisp craft beer. Other popular burgers include the classic All-American ($23) or the Greg Norman ($28) which features a wagyu patty with a sinful blue cheese spread. And for dads who are kids at heart, the joint’s signature over-the-top milkshakes are sure to delight, but maybe a couple of sips will do, just to keep his sugar intake in check.

If Dad is a straight-laced man of tradition, this grand Cantonese restaurant is sure to please. The esteemed Yan Ting at the St Regis recently refreshed its dining space and introduced a new executive chef – Chef Chan Chung Shing, who champions true, authentic Cantonese cooking. Things are impressive from the get-go, with appetisers showcasing fresh ingredients like abalone, iberico pork, homemade radish cake, and scallops. Be sure to order the nourishing Braised Superior Bird’s Nest, which comes with a generous serving of bird’s nest and chunks of crab meat in a comforting pumpkin broth. Planning a more intimate celebration? Private rooms and bespoke menus are available upon enquiry – simply provide the restaurant with your budget and they’ll curate a menu to your preferences.

Have a dad who’s a big fan of beer? Bring him to the world’s highest urban microbrewery, with stunning views of Marina Bay to boot. This Father’s Day, treat Dad to one-for-one homemade, ice-cold pints. Some five brews (from $9.90) are available on the menu: an IPA, a stout, a wheat beer, a house porter, and a winning blonde lager that’s refreshingly fruity and easy to drink. Or, go for the beer-tasting paddle ($23.90) which brings you five 100ml tasters of the bar’s craft brews. Level33 also boasts a beer-focused food menu which incorporates beer, beer ingredients, by-products from the brewery, and brewing processes into the menu. Get stuck in on beer batter Japanese oysters (from $42) and dry-aged bone-ribeyes ($288) among other innovative creations.

Dads who enjoy the finer things in life will appreciate an intimate dining experience at Hashida, a 12-seater Japanese kappo restaurant by Chef Kenjiro ‘Hatch’ Hashida. The omakase menus (from $200) consist of thoughtfully crafted dishes executed with precision, such as monaka crackers with crab and caviar, an indulgent spin on chawanmushi with blue cheese and abalone, as well as slivers of fresh chutoro (fatty tuna), katsuo (bonito) and kue (grouper). The space is understated but equally impressive, with sleek Hiba wood countertops, ceilings and walls resembling the moon's surfaces, and exquisite handcrafted tableware. A tip when dining here: don’t forget the condiments. The house-made wasabi paste is made with discarded wasabi peels simmered in soy sauce and then mixed in with fresh grated wasabi.
