Manly Pacific will re-launch this August under the high-end boutique hotel brand – here's what's changing (and what's set to stay the same)

When Manly’s mega beachfront hotel (formerly Novotel Manly) re-opened as Manly Pacific back in early 2023, Sydney’s hotel enthusiasts (myself included) rejoiced. A top-tier luxury hotel steps from one of the city’s best beaches is a true gift, and (high-end price tag aside), Manly Pacific overdelivered. Now, the beachfront stay has announced that it’s entering a new era. This August, Manly Pacific will officially become Elysium Manly – marking the Sydney debut of the emerging luxury hotel brand that’s already made a splash up the coast in Noosa.
Last year, the property wrapped up a near $40 million transformation, including a $30 million overhaul of its guestrooms and suites by Coco Republic (including the introduction of a very special wellness suite), plus the opening of Cibaria – the slick Italian restaurant from Alessandro and Anna Pavoni that's become one of our go-to’s for an on-point Italian feast. Now, those upgrades are forming the foundation for the hotel's next chapter.
Already established in Noosa, Elysium is positioning itself as a luxury brand centred around thoughtful design, intuitive service and immersive guest experiences. At its new Manly address, that means guests can expect everything from Hermès bathroom amenities and ESPA wellness products to Grown Alchemist skincare, alongside bespoke floral installations by renowned florist Saskia Havekes of Grandiflora, a signature scent created exclusively for the hotel and a curated soundtrack that shifts throughout the day.
Thankfully, a lot of the hotels’ existing drawcards will stay in place. The Coco Republic-designed interiors aren't going anywhere, Cibaria will continue serving up its gorgeous Italian goodness, and the hotel will remain under the leadership of general manager Dylan Cole. Existing bookings will also be honoured – so if you’ve booked your summer staycation in advance, it’s still in safe hands.
"Manly Pacific has built a strong reputation as one of Sydney's most iconic hotels, and this next chapter allows us to build on that foundation with a more considered expression of coastal luxury," Cole said in a statement.
According to the team, the transition to the Elysium brand signals a growing appetite for luxury stays that feel more personal and connected to their surroundings. We love MP as it is, but the Elysium switch-up sounds like it could only elevate the beautiful beachside stay.
More details about Elysium Manly will be revealed ahead of its official launch in August. We’re staying tuned, so we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, here’s what you can expect from a staycation at Manly Pacific.
