Finding the right Airbnb for your NSW weekender can be a challenge, and it’s easy to get carried away adding dream stays to your one-day wish list. Keen to know which Airbnbs are the most lusted-after in the state? Us too – so we asked the good people at Airbnb to reveal all. Somewhat surprisingly, it wasn’t the big group homes that are responsible for our wishlist wanderlust. All of the top five most wishlisted stays in NSW are romantic, two-person escapes.

The Salty Dog, Newport

Suspended in a timeless bubble on Sydney’s Pittwater, this floating tiny house is a dream romantic getaway, just over an hour’s drive from the CBD. With a ladder dropping into the estuary off a beautiful timber deck, and cosy interiors plucked straight from your cottage-core Pinterest board, it’s really no wonder this magical two-person houseboat has taken the crown as NSW’s most wishlisted stay.

Tiny House, Foxground

Keeping up the cosy theme, this intimate, two-person tiny house is the second-most wishlisted stay in the state. Surrounded by sub-tropical rainforest, this one is a little further afield, located in the mountainous region of Foxground on the NSW South Coast. Inside the house, you’ll find a linen-draped bed beside a picture-box window and a fully-equipped kitchen. Between the trees outside the cabin, you’ll find a firepit and a bathtub for steamy baths under the stars.

Gawthorne's Hut, Mudgee

This architecturally-stunning eco hut ranked among the top 10 Airbnbs in the world back in 2023, and for good reason. Designed to celebrate its beautiful surroundings, the off-grid oasis is home to everything you need for a luxe romantic weekend, in a setting that feels divinely removed from reality.

Banksia, Kangaroo Valley

Set on a working chicken farm, and partially suspended over a tree-shrouded dam, this designer tiny home is a light-flooded escape from city life. Wake up to uninterrupted views across the water, spend your days exploring Kangaroo Valley, then take a bath in the open air.

Spa Serenity Cottage, Seaforth

This designer-furnished coastal escape came in at number five on the list. Home to a light-flooded bar kitchen, private pool and outdoor spa, this one is a luxe option just 30 minutes drive from Sydney’s CBD.
