Yep, it's still sleazy (oh, Porkys, never leave us!). And it's a helluva rowdy ride on a Saturday night. But we here at Time Out can't break it off with the 'Cross.

Old favourite, Hugo's will do you too. Cocktail lovers rave about Eau de Vie, and rightfully so - the bar tucked inside the Kirketon should be on everyone's Sydney bucket list. The Rooseveltshows there's more to the Cross's drinking culture than stumbly blokes in tight tees.

Theatre, you say? Well, Griffin at the Stable Theatres is probably the most exciting play-making company in Sydney. History, you want? It's everywhere. But do join us in a moment of silence for the Oporto on the corner of Victoria Road and Craigend Street.
