Going out is fun, especially in a city like Chicago, where there are countless new restaurants and fancy new cocktail bars to head to. But sometimes, you just want to stay in—and that's alright too (hey, we're guilty of canceling plans to stay inside and catch up on Netflix, too, especially when it gets just a little too chilly outside). That's when it's time to hit up DoorDash. We've picked out our favorite restaurants that deliver with DoorDash, perfect for when there's no way in hell you're leaving your apartment but can't stop craving your favorite Thai dish. Check out these DoorDash delivery options for when hitting the town just isn't going to happen.

1

Publican Quality Meats

This popular brunch and lunch spot is most known for its cuts of meat, which you’ll find on meat plates and in dishes all over the menu and to go. The sandwiches are a must, with a killer porchetta with bread and butter pickles, whole grain mustard on a crisp ciabatta. But whatever you pick, from soups that change regularly to breakfast dishes, everything at PQM is a delight.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

The Chicago outpost of this Memphis-based chicken shop has just a few of our favorite things—fried chicken, fried okra and fried green tomatoes. And they’re delicious. They're the epitome of Southern comfort food—and we’ll take a pretty damned good rendition of them in Chicago when we can get them. Which is exactly what we get with Gus’s. Two to go, please.

Coalfire

Picking a pizza place for delivery can be daunting, we have enough choices for an army. But Coalfire is an easy pick, with wood-fired pizzas that are filled with flavor and a crisp crust. You can build your own or pick from the already constructed list—we’re suckers for the ‘nduja pizza with berkshire sausage, ‘nduja infused whipped ricotta, mozzarella, cherry bomb pepper and basil.

Pub Royale

Pub Royale has quickly positioned itself as a staple in the world of newer Chicago restaurants, and we really can’t complain. We’re in love with everything on the menu, from crisp salt cod samosas to spicy gobi manchurian and even a burger, this kitchen sink spot is not one to be missed, and even better when they’ll come drop it off at your apartment in the dead of winter.

Duck Duck Goat

Cheap Chinese food, the take out counter at Duck Duck Goat is not. Instead, you’ll find cheffy takes on dishes like fried rice (think fried rice balls topped with greens, corn and peppers) and Taiwanese beef noodle soup with house egg noodles, beef broth and griddled beef in take out containers. It might not be our standard late-night Chinese spot, but chef Stephanie Izard’s take out counter is open until 10pm, and we love these upscale takes on dishes, too.

Kuma's Too

The second location of the burger mainstay serves up many of the same burgers as the original, named for metal bands and songs. Feeling like the burger minus the metal? Grab the Slayer, a burger that’s an entire meal to itself with fries, chili, cherry peppers, caramelized onions, andouille sausage, jack cheese, green onion and anger (yep, that’s right, anger).

Cumin

This spot showcases Nepalese cooking with dishes such as palungoko saag, where he takes whole spinach leaves, sautées them with caramelized garlic and coats them in a trinity of seeds (fenugreek, mustard and cumin). You can't pass up the Indian cuisine either (the peppery biryani and lunch buffet are both solid), but ignoring the Nepalese dishes here is like going to a beer bar and ordering wine.

The taco of choice for those in need of a pitcher of margaritas, it’ll stand up as a solid choice when you’re headed home from margaritas, or whatever else you drank, too. We’re partial to the fish taco and the potato taco, or a combination of both of them—three tacos will fill you right up.

Ann Sather

You’re ordering from here because you are in desperate need of cinnamon rolls. You may see huge omelettes and eggs Benedict, but don’t get too distracted (just kinda, you might want some kind of substance for this meal) and keep your eyes on the prize—those cinnamon rolls. They’re flaky and the frosting is sticky, sweet and delicious, making this breakfast spot a staple.
