The best Negroni Week events

The fun starts here! Negroni Week 2018 gets officially underway at Fang Fang in Hong Kong’s party central, Lan Kwai Fong. Co-founder of Chalong Bay Rum, Thibault Spithakis is a special guest on the night. He’ll be helping to shake up a Celebration Bay negroni – a mix of barrel-aged Chalong Bay Rum, plus red vermouth and Campari. Too ordinary for you? Be brave and opt for the Mare Negroni featuring Gin Mare, vermouth, Japanese plum wine, miso-infused Campari, matcha green tea and uh, seawater. June 4th, 7pm-12am.

If you’re over in Macao, don’t worry, you can still take part in the festivities. Taking place at Vida Rica Bar in the Macau Mandarin Oriental, join a secret mission to locate the mysterious Red Hand and discover the secrets of the world’s best Campari cocktails maker. Between drinks and steak sandwiches, learn how to make your very own top-tier classic negroni. $200 (+10 percent per person). June 4th, 8pm-9.30pm. 

On Tuesday things are being kicked up a notch. The action is switching to Lily & Bloom and expect the LKF Tower venue to be packed out courtesy of it offering negronis all night for just $30. We suggest getting there early, drinking your fair share and doing your bit for the bar’s chosen charity, Water For People. June 5th, 5pm-midnight.

Is there any doubt that Italians, being from the land of Campari, make the best negronis? Well, if you need convincing you better hit up Pirata on Wednesday night. There, five Italian guest bartenders will be working together to showcase the different delights of a negroni. See Mario Calderone (Honi Honi), Simone Rossi (Aqua), Isabella Vannoni (Gin Mare brand ambassador), Paolo de Venuto (Lobster Bar) and Dom Carella (Pirata Group) weave their magic. $200 (includes three negronis). June 6th, 7pm-midnight.

Wan Chai’s colonial gem The Pawn – once the famous Woo Cheong pawnshop – is turning the clock back to the 1930s for a night. Expect Jazz Age glamour and frivolity and plenty of negronis. This year, The Pawn is serving a huge range for eager drinkers including a barrel-aged negroni, a white negroni, a mangosteen and acai berry negroni, a coffee negroni, a pineapple negroni and a white peach negroni. June 9th.

The end of Negroni Week sees an Italian Takeover take place at Honi Honi. The traditionally rum-orientated tiki bar is all-in on negronis come Sunday. Some of the best Italian mixologists in town are set to be there – including the likes of Isabella Vanoni, Simone Rossi, Domenico Carella and host Mario Calderone – offering up discounted negronis and beers all night long. June 10th, 6pm-10pm.
