Coming to a tucked away corner of Aberdeen Street later this month is new cocktail bar The Old Man. The establishment is being helmed by stellar bartender Agung Prabowo, previously of Lobster Bar and Mandarin Oriental fame, while James Tamang (Vibes) and Roman Ghale (Upper House) head daily operations.

The establishment pays tribute to a man famous for his writing as well as his penchant for drinking – Ernest Hemingway. The name comes from the author’s novel The Old Man and the Sea and Prabowo, Tamang and Ghale – three self-proclaimed ‘old men’ – look forward to bringing their bar to life, with the overall concept paying homage to Hemingway and serving cocktails with Asian elements.

We can’t wait to hear more about this awesome new opening and keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming review.
