From lifestyle stores to pop-ups, it’s no secret that Hongkongers can’t get enough of anything Japan-related. And when it comes to food, our city’s foodies squeal with excitement when a Japan-exclusive restaurant or chain store opens a location in Hong Kong. Adding to the list is Truffle Donut – a Japan-wide shop known for its irresistibly fluffy nama doughnuts.
The Japanese chain is set to open its first Hong Kong location at Harbour City in early August. So what makes these doughnuts special? In addition to using a unique fermentation process and controlling the dough’s moisture, the Japanese bakery adds pumpkin into the mix, giving the dough its yellow hue, lending a natural sweetness, and helping create a light, bouncy texture.
Truffle Donut will bring seven of its classic doughnuts – such as its signature fresh truffle, cream-filled, strawberry, and chocolate – and launch three Hong Kong-exclusive flavours you won’t want to miss: mango pomelo sago, Musang King durian, and pistachio.
Visit Truffle Donut at Shop OT G03A, G/F, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, 3–27 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui when it officially opens in August.
