Don’t expect any additives or preservatives. The smoothies and juices here are made from fresh, natural produce. Better yet, they’re served in compostable packaging made from plants, so you can feel good about your impact – or lack thereof – on the environment.

Housed in a Grade II historic building, The Peak Lookout hides high above the noise of the streets in Central. Instead of hearing car horns, you’re serenaded to the sound of chirping birds at this restaurant. Those who need a daily dose of green can get their fix on the patio here, too, as it’s surrounded by towering banyan trees and tropical vegetation. Setting aside, the food is pure comfort: Indian curries, Thai stir-fries, meat and fish cooked on the grill and more.

Treating the body right requires sticking to a regular fitness routine. Living in Mid-Levels makes it easy to get in a good workout without having to travel far to do it. Luxury apartment complex Queen’s Garden has a well-equipped wellness centre that goes beyond free weights and treadmills. There’s a swimming pool, a kinesis wall, a yoga and dance studio complete with trainer-led classes, a spacious spa, a golf simulator and multiple ball courts. Tenants even have access to a private physical therapist and qualified fitness instructor. Staying fit doesn’t get much more convenient than that.

The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens is one of the oldest such facilities in the world. It’s also the oldest park in Hong Kong, and Mid-Levels residents have easy access to this well-preserved green space. Drop in during the morning as the animals stir to life; the call of the tropical birds is enough to make you feel as if you’re on a secluded island in the Andaman Sea.

The latest branch of Feather & Bone, meanwhile, brings premium natural products closer to the doorstep than ever. The Mid-Levels outpost is spread across two buildings: on one side of the road is the shop and deli, selling all the good stuff you’ve come to expect from the brand, while the café lies on the other side, offering healthy meals all day.
