Pet rescue organisation Pets Haven is ready to help (they are the lovely souls who brought us a litter of kittens in need of homes a few weeks ago, see the video below).
Pets Haven is hosting a dog speed dating event on Saturday February 17 at the soon-to-be-built Yarra One apartment complex, 18 Claremont Street, South Yarra, from noon to 3pm. Prospective dog owners will meet a group of puppers who need homes, including a litter of border collie puppies. For those already loved up, there will be a dog wash and grooming van, an off-leash dog area, a pet photographer and a dog kissing booth. For human companions, gelateria Pipadipo (which we reckon is the best in Melbourne!) will be on hand offering free gelato.
Those who find love and adopt a friend for life will get a lead and collar from Animals in Charge, a healthy treat starter pack from WAGS and a Leash It Bluetooth tracker, so you can make sure your new pooch stays put.
