If you haven't made Mother's Day plans yet, leave it to us. There's still time to make a booking for a nice long lunch or dinner, and plenty of places to call up for a last-minute gift purchase for mum.
Your mum probably spent many years looking after you through your terrible twos, teens and so on. So let's do her a solid and splash out on her with a gift certificate for The Langham's swish Chuan Spa. Spa vouchers are available from $50 or you can get in on the action with the luxury spa package for two ($255) for a whole day of pampering.
Gift your mum (and maybe yourself) a little personalised gift from The Daily Edited. They've just opened up a store at David Jones on Bourke Street Mall and if you're in a pinch, you can pick out one of their beautiful leather items and get it monogrammed with mum's initials on the spot.
Gelato Messina is shaking up the chocolate box this year with a box of mini gelato chocolates. Order from the Fitzroy or Windsor stores and hand deliver them to mum quick before they melt!
Pidapipo celebrates the matriarch this Mother's Day by scooping up three special flavours by three very special Italian nonnas. Nonnas Concetta Corso (grandmother of The Design Files' Lisa Marie Corso), Nonna Elsie Valmorbida (Pidapipo owner Lisa Valmorbida's nan), and Nonna Livia Bacchia (grandmother of food writer Paola Bacchia), have created gelati based on their favourite family treats. There will be a coffee with chocolate and hazelnut biscotti gelato, a tiramisu one, and a ricotta with grappa-soaked sultanas and pinenuts gelato.
The Mother's Day flavours are available now at Pidapipo Carlton and Windsor.

The Windsor is hosting afternoon teas in its One Eleven Spring Street dining room ($129), Grand Ball ($99), and the Bourke Room ($99). Mums can expect a little extra treat courtesy of the grand hotel.
Right next door to Cutler and Co, Mario will be taking reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner service on Mother's Day.
