Gelato Messina is shaking up the chocolate box this year with a box of mini gelato chocolates. Each beautifully created chocolate will have tiny bites of Messina's gelato and are encased in a delicate chocolate shell. Order from the Fitzroy or Windsor stores and hand deliver them to mum quick before they melt!

Pidapipo celebrates the matriarch this Mother's Day by scooping up three special flavours by three very special Italian nonnas. Nonnas Concetta Corso (grandmother of The Design Files' Lisa Marie Corso), Nonna Elsie Valmorbida (Pidapipo owner Lisa Valmorbida's nan), and Nonna Livia Bacchia (grandmother of food writer Paola Bacchia), have created gelati based on their favourite family treats. There will be a coffee with chocolate and hazelnut biscotti gelato, a tiramisu one, and a ricotta with grappa-soaked sultanas and pinenuts gelato.

Treat your mum to a long Mother's Day lunch at Andrew McConnell's Cutler and Co, which will be serving up a seasonal menu matched by a selection of sommelier Liam O'Brien's favourite wines. Expect dishes like smoked duck, raddichio and English cream, beef short-rib with cipolinni onions and an autumnal pear and almond tart to finish 

The lunch will set you back $95 per person, with matching wine for $55.

Celebrate Mother's Day with a high tea with your mum, grandmother, and any other important lady in your life. The Windsor is hosting afternoon teas in its One Eleven Spring Street dining room ($129), Grand Ball ($99), and the Bourke Room ($99). Mums can expect a little extra treat courtesy of the grand hotel.

Richmond restaurant Academy Kitchen and Bar is hosting a Mother's Day seasonal dinner ($50) with a curated menu by chef and owner Will Manning. Mum will be served a complimentary glass of bubbles, and diners will be treated to a three-course menu. Vegetarian options are available.
