Time Out says

For one weekend only, HiFi and Lucy Liu are joining forces to sling a tasty trio of special edition sangas from Collingwood's Smith Street

Have the sandwich gods really answered our prayers? Heaven yes! Hi Fi and Lucy Liu are teaming up for an epic sanga mash-up at HiFi's Collingwood digs, with three new pan-Asian special editions to sink your teeth into. But you'll need to mark your calendars stat; the dream duo will be serving up their collab menu for one weekend only, across Saturday December 9 to Sunday December 10.

Along with sour plum MSG curly fries hot out the fryer basket (with creamy sambal mayo for dipping), Hi Fi's Dale Kemp and Lucy Liu's Zac Cribbes will be slinging a beef rendang short rib sub with turmeric pickles, American cheese and sambal mayo on a toasted baguette; a potato bun filled with gochujang-smothered fried crispy chicken, iceberg lettuce, lemonade pickles and kewpie mayo; and an on-the-bone roasted pork belly sanga with crackling, tomato, papaya salad, coriander and Hi Fii's famous ranch sauce. Yep, we're sold.

Take your pick and then wash it all down with a Vietnamese coffee shake spiked with Kahlua sago and some fried Chinese doughnuts to go. You can expect lots of crunch, tang and sticky fingers throughout this once-off sanga fest, a collaboration Kemp says has been on the cards for a while. “We’ll be dishing up the explosion of flavour you’d expect from Lucy Lui and encasing it in a whole lot of carby goodness. I love the textural harmony that comes with biting into a good sandwich and this menu delivers just that.”

True to the Hi Fi name, the vinyls will be spinning all weekend long, the perfect pick-me-up to get your day started. To get in on all the saucy, sanga action, head straight to 316 Smith St on Saturday or Sunday, from 10am to 3pm.
