Time Out Recommended celebrates the Soul of the City and is our stamp of approval on the venues that we love and keep going back to. The campaign highlights our favourite spots in the city where we go to for our regular meals, caffeine-fix, or retail therapy. Not all of these places are five-star establishments – some are small corner joints that we've come across on our daily jaunts around town – but they are the venues that we tell our friends and family and where you can find us when we aren’t uncovering the latest must-tries in the city.
Picked by our editors and the entire Hong Kong team, we have identified neighbourhood restaurants, bars, traditional shops, boutiques, barbershops, cafes, and art galleries, highlighting venues that are close to our hearts, and businesses whose values remain as the cornerstone of our local community. We are sending out Time Out Recommended 2020 stickers and certificates to over 600 businesses in the city so you can identify these locations when you visit. The recognition aims to provide visitors and Time Out readers with a local insider's guide to the best places to eat, drink, shop, and visit so that they can experience the very best of Hong Kong.
When you see the Time Out Recommended sticker at a venue, you can be assured that we haven’t just reviewed it, but we are regular visitors, and it's on our go-to list. Who knows we might even bump into each other when you drop by.
