Hong Kong's summer heat is unforgiving, and unless you plan to hibernate in an air-conditioned cave for the next two months or so, there's no way of escaping it. Not to worry though, because next to heat-beating ice creams and cold shaved ice desserts, Hong Kong has some of the coolest (literally) beverages that can quench your thirst – and it doesn't even involve any alcohol. Because nobody wants to be hungover in the middle of the day under the hot, blazing sun. Here are the best non-alcoholic summer drinks you need to start sipping on to survive the heat.

RECOMMENDED: Want something to munch on instead? Try these cold dishes that will cool you down in no time. Or, if a glass of tipple is the only way to go, these summer-inspired gin cocktails will do the trick.

Located inside Eaton HK's buzzing Food Hall, Flower Years is shaking up this summer with three new, gorgeous Mövenpick milkshakes. For something that will awaken your taste buds, opt for the zesty avocado lime milkshake, or if you're after a sweet and simple drink, you can't go wrong with the strawberry and cream. And if you're in the mood to spoil yourself, the chocolate caramel will definitely do the trick.

Apart from fresh sushi and decadent Japanese fare, Sen-ryo's special summer apple black vinegar soda with mikan ($32/glass) should not be overlooked. Instead of clinking champagne flutes, celebrate the summer in the luxurious surrounding of Fortnum & Mason, and sip on a glass of chilled sparkling tea ($248/750ml). With notes of tropical fruits and a palate of lemongrass, water mint, Darjeeling, and a long-lasting hint of jasmine, the tea's complex flavours and layers will give you all the champagne feels, without any of the alcohol! A range of mocktails made using the sparkling tea will also be available at 181 Fortnum & Mason.

For those who prefer something fruity, Fortnum & Mason has also launched a cold brew infusions collection in three specialty blends: Orange and Lemon, Apple and Blackberry, and Apricot and Cherry ($148/60g). Simply pop one of these teabags into your cup of water, your water bottle, or even add a few to a party jug to share between friends.

Have you been chosen to be the designated sober friend? Well, you can still enjoy a great night out at Terrible Baby with their new Seedlip mocktails. Kick off the night with a citrus Let's Grove cocktail with grapefruit, lemon, and orange shrub, topped with a refreshing Capi sparkling cucumber water, or the Funky Garden which will remind you of an English garden with notes of green tea and mint. For something fruitier, opt for Cool Story Bro which is concocted with passion fruit, guava, and pineapple, or grab a round of The Green Life made with green grapes, aloe vera, and lemon juice.

All available for $70 per glass.
