Time Out says

I love this hotel. I realise that’s not a particularly creative way to start a hotel review, but I’ve read enough of them to know that sometimes an unfettered love letter is what we need to be convinced to actually book a stay. So let me go on record: if you’re looking for a sparkly hotel in Sydney’s CBD with seamless service and sky-high views, I implore you to book a room at A by Adina.

What is A by Adina like?

The Adina name is one you might be familiar with: branded over hotels and serviced apartments across Sydney and beyond. And while the standard is relatively high across the board, A by Adina is a step above the rest: a designer space polished to perfection with exceptionally attentive five star service to match. Opened in 2021, this architecturally impressive tower is home to 194 apartment‑style rooms, Australia’s first “sky lobby” (the reception desk is found 100 metres above the street, in an impeccably beautiful light-flooded space) and one of Sydney’s most awarded cocktail bars – and it’s right in the beating heart of the city.

What are the rooms like at A by Adina?

Our room on the 16th floor was one of the sexiest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Floor to ceiling windows flood the carefully appointed, tastefully minimalist space with light, and the bathroom is fitted with a dreamy raindance shower overlooking the city. Studios and apartments (you can choose between one- and two-bedroom apartments) are all equipped with kitchenettes and clever storage, so whether you’re in town for a week or just a weekend, it’s effortlessly practical without losing any style points. And then there’s the minibar: loaded with a careful curation of local treats like pre-mixed cocktails from Maybe Sammy and chocolate from top-tier choc shop Koko Black.

Is there a restaurant at A by Adina?

You better believe it. From the sky lobby, a golden staircase framed by glass leads you up to Dean and Nancy on 22: consistently voted among Sydney’s very best bars. I’d never visited before my stay, but the moment I entered the glittering, light-flooded space, I understood the hype. Behind the bar, a team of talented mixologists crafted elaborate cocktails, and tables overlooking the city filled with couples on special occasion dates and plates of delicious, snacky sharing food. For guests, this is where breakfast is served too: and it’s pretty damn special eating your scrambled eggs 22 floors above the city. Breakfast is a refined, a la carte situation, and the coffee is excellent – though I’d recommend stopping by nearby Skittle Lane or Industry Beans for a pre- or post-breakfast ice latte, best enjoyed by the pool on level 21 (more on that later).

What is the service like at A by Adina?

The flawless service here was a standout element of our stay. We were welcomed with genuine warmth, glasses of Champagne in the sparkling lobby and super thoughtful touches in our room. With capacity for more than 400 guests, I can’t imagine this level of service is easy to maintain, but it made such a difference to our experience.

Is there a gym at A by Adina?

Yes, the hotel has a 24-hour gym located on level 21 – equipped with everything you need for a solid workout without leaving the building.

Is there a pool at A by Adina?

Found 21 floors above the city, in a wildly impressive space with towering ceilings and glass walls that partially open up to the Sydney air, the pool here is undeniably one of the most Instagrammable swimming spots in the city. A row of comfy cushioned sun loungers line the room with views of the sparkling harbour through the city’s high-rises, and the pool is cool enough to clock some laps. It’s open daily until 10pm, and though we missed our time slot for a night time dip, I can imagine it would be pretty special swimming in the sky above the city lights.

Is there a spa at A by Adina?

There’s no spa on site, but you’re not far from many of the best day spas, bath houses, facialists and hair salons in the city, and the lovely concierge team will point you in the right direction.

What’s the area like around A by Adina?

The hotel is super centrally located, reaching into the sky above the beating heart of Sydney’s CBD – meaning most of the city’s best restaurants, bars and galleries are an easy walk from your door.
