Manly residents, we’ve got good news. If you’re keen to upgrade your post-beach ritual this winter, Sydney’s cult-fave recovery spot XtraClubs has got you – with its newest outpost launching this month just steps from the sand. With a mission to make wellness accessible, XtraClubs offers Sydney’s most affordable bathhouse membership model, and as a regular myself, I can vouch for the positive impact this sweaty haven can have on your health.

Following the success of its Bondi Junction, Green Square and Marrickville outposts, the new Manly club doubles down on the formula that’s made XtraClubs a go-to for wellness enthusiasts: hot and cold therapy and an easy, unpretentious, zen-as-heck energy. Inside, you’re working with a full suite of recovery equipment – a large traditional Finnish sauna, four infrared saunas, six ice baths (kept between 3°C and 12°C), plus a generously sized steam room.

The space itself leans more boutique spa than gym-adjacent setup: soft natural light, calming travertine floors and clean, minimal finishes designed to make you forget you’re technically still in the middle of Manly’s busiest strip. It’s all geared towards slowing things down – whether you’re dropping in for a quick reset on the way to dinner or settling into a longer wind-down. Doors are open daily from 6am to 11pm, so whether you’re chasing a sunrise sweat or a late-night unwind, you’re covered.

The super accessible price point is XtraClubs’ key calling card. Memberships start from $19.95 a week, scaling up depending on how often you want to visit, and casual visitors can drop in for $39 for a 90-minute session (with full access to the sauna, ice and steam).

You’ll find the new bathhouse at 32 The Corso, less than 200 metres from Manly Wharf and just a breezy wander from Manly Beach – meaning icy ocean to scented steam room in less time than it takes to buy a coffee.
