The seventh edition of annual Asia's 50 Best Bars list will be revealed on April 28, 2022. The prestigious award is looking into returning its live event this year, but instead of the usual countdown held in Singapore, the award-giving body is looking into Bangkok to hold the on-ground event since it's one of the few cities in Asia now accepting vaccinated tourists.

Last year, five Bangkok bars were included in the list, including Teens of Thailand (number 48), Vesper (number 46), Backstage Cocktail Bar (number 35), Tropic City (number 22), and the acclaimed Bamboo Bar at the Mandarin Oriental (number 11).

Hong Kong reigned supreme on the listing in 2021 with Oaxaca bar Coa nabbing the top spot followed by eight bars, Rosewood Hong Kong's flagship bar DarkSide debuting at number 40, 'closed-loop' bar Penicillin at number 30, tea-tail bar Tell Camellia at number 23, American-style cocktail bar The Diplomat ranking at number 20, Four Seasons Hong Kong's Caprice Bar at number 10, Quinary at number 25 (Legend of the List awardee), The Wise King at number 28, and The Pontiac at number 26.

Should restrictions allow the live event to commence in Bangkok, it will give the Asian bar community a chance to congregate and celebrate bar accomplishments of the year. Fringe events will also be deployed in Bangkok.

Prior to the event, a series of special award announcements will be commencing leading up to the ceremony in April, including the announcement of bars ranked from number 51 to number 100 on April 21.

Don't miss the online awards ceremony live countdown on The World's 50 Best Bars Facebook page and 50 Best Bars' YouTube channel, April 28, 7pm (HKT).
