Hong Kong’s best ladies’ nights

Ophelia (Wednesdays)
  • Bars and pubs
  • Wan Chai

A glamorous and decadent weekly ladies night that channels retro burlesque and old Hollywood glam for a night of no-holds-barred fun. As well as Ophelia's usual brand of top-drawer madness, ladies can enjoy free-flow vodka and gin (with your choice of mixer) between 9pm and 11pm.

Ce La Vi (Thursdays)
  • Restaurants
  • Contemporary Asian
  • Lan Kwai Fong
  • price 4 of 4

We reckon Cé La Vi's crack at the hallowed ladies' night is near the top of the pile among the city’s litany of offerings, whether you’re a lady or a ladette. Its got an amazing view from the top floor but also great nibbles, tunes and drinks. Kick off the night with complimentary canapés and bubbles. Then, once you’re adequately fed and watered, enjoy some Motown, funk and hip-hop tunes with resident DJ Bennie Bianco keeping things rolling into the wee hours.

Soirée (Tuesdays)
  • Bars and pubs

Laid back, chilled, relaxed – if you’re after a totally mental ladies’ night, give this one a miss. But, if you’re keen for something a bit more low key – a nice chat maybe – you can’t go wrong, especially when you get a free drink upon entry and happy hour all night.

Woobar (Wednesdays)
  • Bars and pubs
  • West Kowloon

Decidedly chilled. Woobar’s tasteful décor, reserved ambience and sweeping views of Victoria Harbour offer a good spot to get quietly, exquisitely smashed on cheese and wine throughout the aptly named 'Wine-derlust Wednesdays' for $360.

  • Bars and pubs
  • Lan Kwai Fong

Rula Bula, translated from the Irish expression meaning ‘uproar and commotion’, lives up to its name with Absolut vodka mixers for women from 9pm-12am every Thursday. This open and lofty space, with comfortable seats and great cocktails, is one of the more lively options on the list.

Rummin' Tings (Wednesdays)
  • Bars and pubs
  • Soho

Enjoy half-priced cocktails and serious irie vibes at this cool Central bar's ladies night. This fun little side street venue always has a lively atmosphere. The cocktails have nurtured a reputation for being strong and delicious – the best of both worlds! A great choice if you're looking to cut loose a little.

Oolaa (Wednesdays)
  • Restaurants
  • Sheung Wan

Considering that this resto is super family friendly, your ladies’ night is likely to be more Sense and Sensibility than Sex and the City. So, if that sounds like your kind of thing, have at it with a free glass of champagne and free canapés.
