Is there any better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than catching Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first female-led superhero film at the cinemas? Probably. But this movie has been long overdue in the franchise. Set in the 90s, Captain Marvel follows the journey of Carol Danvers to become the title character while being caught in a conflict between two alien worlds. While critical reviews haven’t been as glowing as DC’s Wonder Women have been, representation is still hugely important. Plus, there’s the after-credit scenes to look forward to in the lead up of Avengers: Endgame next month.
