Singapore’s largest annual gastronomic event, the Singapore Food Festival (SFF), returns for its 31st edition this year, from October 1 to 31. Themed ‘A Celebration of Old and New’, this year’s festival spotlights age-old culinary traditions as well as contemporary innovations in our vibrant food scene. Whether you’re a self-professed epicurean or just a casual foodie, you’re in for a treat, with over 20 events in the month-long line-up to pick and choose from. These vary from unique dining experiences hosted at top restaurants, to public pop-up events across the island.
Here’s what to look forward to at this year’s Singapore Food Festival.
Signature Events
Three large-scale experiences form the core of this year’s SFF offerings. These will be held in iconic locations across Singapore and offer a spectacle both for the eyes and the palate.
On October 10, Marquee Singapore will be hosting Future Food – a high-energy event blending electrifying entertainment with futuristic culinary techniques. Headlining the event is Chef Zor Tan of Restaurant Born as well as several other surprise chefs.
Next up, guests will have the chance to dine in the beautiful Chijmes hall as part of The Long Table dining experience on October 17 and 18. The four-course lunch and six-course dinner menus are crafted by prominent personalities like MasterChef Singapore judge and owner of Rempapa Damian D’Silva, Chef Marvas Ng of Path, and award-winning pastry chef Cheryl Koh.
And on October 19, Marina Bay Sands will be presenting Food Is Art. The gallery-style exhibition designed by teamLab will highlight the connections between food and art through thought-provoking sculptures and digital installations.
