Circular Quay has scored a new Culture Station that helps you find restaurants, bars, exhibits and events

You should never run out of fun things to explore in Sydney, thanks to the introduction of a new Culture Station, located centrally at Circular Quay. Located opposite Wharf 5, the new information hub was set up to help locals and visitors alike discover restaurants, bars, exhibits, events and more, while also sharing the best way to get there on public transport. On-site team members act as personalised concierges, suggesting attractions and activities tailored to your interests.
Established late 2025 by the NSW Government last year, the centre is now open seven days a week, and it's free to access. The team specialises in suggesting free and unexpected experiences – like visiting the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Australian Museum, or touring 19th-century heritage homes in The Rocks.
Of course, they’re also well-versed in family-friendly activities, Sydney's culture trail, and after-hours events at the Sydney Observatory, State Library and Art Gallery of NSW, with staff often able to source discounted tickets.
“The hub makes planning your day easier, making sure you have more guaranteed great experiences,” says Steve Kamper, NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism. “We are backing tourism as a key economic driver, with bold plans to grow our visitor economy to $91 billion over the next decade.”
The Culture Station is just the first phase of a broader $2-billion investment in city navigation. Next up, new wayfinding signs and posters will roll out across the CBD and Walsh Bay. These intuitive guides will help the 500,000 travellers passing through the Overseas Passenger Terminal easily find their way to landmarks like the State Library of NSW and the Art Gallery of NSW.
“Whether you’re stepping off a train, bus or wandering in from Circular Quay, clear and intuitive wayfinding will make it simple to explore multiple venues in one visit,” says Kamper.
