We are proud today to announce the annual TONY* nominations, honoring the best work on Broadway in the 2018–19 season. As always, we'd like to be very clear: TONY is an abbreviation for Time Out New York, and the following list represents the Broadway shows and artists that we here at Time Out New York, a.k.a. TONY, would nominate for the Tony Awards, a.k.a. the Antoinette Perry Awards, if we alone served as the nominating committee for the Tony Awards, which we do not. Please note, too, that these are our choices, not our predictions of what will actually be nominated for Tony Awards when those nominations are announced at 8:30am on Tuesday, April 30. [Update: Click here for a list of the actual 2019 Tony Award nominees.] As always, some categories offered many excellent candidates, and choosing among them was hard. But we have made our selections, in accordance with the Tony Awards' own rules and rulings for the season, and here are the results. Congratulations to all the 2019 TONY* nominees!
