For the last eight-ish months we’ve been called Time In. We don’t need to go into why. You know why. We all know why.

By rebranding as Time In, we shifted our mission to bring you the best ways to stay connected to Melbourne while staying home and staying safe. Those eight months were not easy. The ups and downs of lockdown life proved challenging, heartbreaking and overwhelming for most of us, but we were determined to keep the mood up – bringing you everything that you miss about this wonderful city directly to your home.

We learned a lot of things during lockdown. How to cut our own hair (with varying degrees of success). That you can still eat and drink like royalty thanks to some of Melbourne’s best hospo businesses pivoting to takeaway and delivery. That connecting with friends and family is so much more important than we realised. That Melbourne is filled with highly resilient, highly creative people.

We also learned the simplest and most important thing of all: that the world is a difficult place, and we are all breakable. So just be kind.

This week marks our frankly historic switch back to being Time Out. We know that the coming months won’t be exactly the same as before and that staying safe is our number one priority. Now is a time to heal and be there for one another. So go make that reservation. Go see a film. Go pick up a treat for your friend and have an impromptu weekday picnic

And while you’re doing that we’ll be here, doing our best to support you, your friends, your local coffee shop, your go-to comedy club and the community as a whole. That’s what we do best and we can’t wait to get back to it.

Welcome back to Time Out, everyone. We’re so excited to show you ‘round.

It’s been months since everyday life was turned upside down by a slew of social restrictions. The Victorian government has begun to roll back some social restrictions in a slow and steady path towards a new normal. As of now, several rules have eased, including those around dining in restaurants. Check out our list below of venues that have opened and what's still closed in Melbourne.
