A longstanding pan-Asian restaurant on Kentish Town Road, Bintang remains much the same as it has for years – a tiny dining room with a hospitable jumble of bamboo cladding, tribal masks, lanterns and fairy lights. There is, though, now a great outdoor area that appeals in the summer. The food menu draws influence from many Asian cuisines. Expect, then, anything from Korean chicken wings, salt and pepper squid and wasabi prawn tempura to ramen soups, katsu curries, beef bulgogi, nasi goreng and five-spice crispy duck. A signature 'Bintang curry' made with lemongrass, tamarind, lime leaf and galangal also features. Delivery is available, as well as lunch menus, happy hour menus and a set party menu for large groups.
Venue says: “Specialising in delicacies from Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam and the Philippines, just to name a few.”
